What to expect on the first visit
Check-in and Paperwork
When you arrive, our friendly front desk staff will welcome you and ask you to complete some necessary paperwork. This will include your medical history, current medications, and any concerns you may have regarding your dental health.
Comprehensive Exam
Next, one of our dentists will conduct a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, and mouth. This may include:
- Checking for cavities, gum disease, or other dental issues
- Assessing your overall oral health and hygiene
- Examining your bite and jaw alignment
If you have any existing dental work (fillings, crowns, etc.), we’ll check those as well to ensure everything is in good shape.
X-rays (if needed)
Depending on your dental history and current health, we may take X-rays to get a clearer view of your teeth and bone structure. This will help us identify any hidden issues that may not be visible during the exam, like cavities between teeth or early signs of gum disease.
Dental Cleaning and Polishing
If it’s your first visit and you’re due for a cleaning, our hygienist will gently clean your teeth. This process involves:
- Removing plaque and tartar buildup
- Polishing your teeth for a smooth finish
A professional cleaning also helps in identifying areas where you can improve your home care routine.
Treatment Plan and Recommendations
Based on your exam and X-rays, the dentist will discuss any necessary treatments or preventive care. If you have any concerns or areas that need attention, we’ll create a customized treatment plan that works with your schedule and goals.
Scheduling Follow-Up Appointments
If any treatments or follow-up appointments are needed, we’ll schedule them before you leave. Our goal is to make sure your smile stays healthy and beautiful!
